More than 60 women gathered at the emblematic College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) to be part of a crucial event in the fight for gender equality: the sixth edition of the Hypatia Forum. Under the slogan “We want facts and not words”, the forum devoted itself to addressing a deep and often invisible problem: “Economic violence against women”.

This meeting, rather than a space for dialogue, was transformed into a bastion of learning and awareness, thanks to the outstanding interventions of Mrs. Angels Calavia i Moliner and Mrs. Teresa Blasi Cot. Both women lawyers with an admirable career were in charge of illuminating the various forms of violence and discrimination that women face both in the family and in the workplace. Through their presentations, they not only shared data and statistics, but also narrated real stories, offering solutions and strategies to combat economic violence.

The event, marked by an atmosphere of solidarity and empowerment, showed the prevailing need to address economic violence as a key component of the feminist struggle. The enthusiastic participation of the attendees and the quality of the discussions underlined the importance of these spaces for awareness and collective action. With the commitment to continue working for a fairer society, the Hypatia Forum closed its doors, making it clear that the road to equality requires deeds, not just words.

The day concluded with a toast sponsored by the CavaWoman, who presented the new project of ‘cava amb cor’.
