This January we have had another session of our feminist reading club, with the work ‘Les nostres mares’ (Our Mothers). In addition, we have had the pleasure of having its author, Gemma Ruiz.

‘Our mothers’ wants to honor the generation that gave up dreams so that their daughters could choose. After getting to know these ten powerful women, we will realize something extraordinary: that although only male figures are always recognized, it turns out that the true referents of life were them, our mothers.

During the talk, Gemma Ruiz shares with all the attendees that each protagonist of the book has a characteristic of her mother. He can see some details of his childhood in each of them.

He also shares that he would like this book to reach the maximum number of men possible. It would be very interesting if they could self-criticize and be able to reflect and put themselves in the skin of each of the stories that are told in the book.

The session was guided by the author herself, Gemma Ruiz, with the cooperation of our president, Anna Mercadé.
