18 women’s associations, together at the Hipatia Forum

Following the initiative of 50a50, a total of 18 associations of women managers, professionals and entrepreneurs come together to jointly organize the Hipatia Forum, in order to discuss about how to improve equal opportunities among women and men on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.

In its second edition, this year Hipatia will be held on Tuesday, March 3, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Auditorium of Barcelona Activa (c/ Llacuna 162).

Under the title “The economic and social re-evolution of women. A new paradigm for all“, the Hipatia Forum stages the union of women’s associations working towards the same objective, the equitable presence of women in decision-making positions, in accordance with ODS 5 of the 2030 Agenda by United Nations.

The conference will revolve around two round tables, whose experts will discuss and propose solutions firstly on “Feminism: challenges and threats” and then on “Feminist economics“.

In addition, the Hipatia Forum will include speeches by the mayor of Barcelona, ​​Ada Colau; the Regional Minister of Enterprise and Knowledge of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Àngels Chacón; the president of the Institut Català de les Dones, Laura Martínez Portell, and the manager of the City Council of Barcelona, ​​Sara Berbel.

Likewise, the president of 50a50, Anna Mercadé, will present the Hipatia Forum manifesto, a compilation of proposals to move towards equal opportunities among women and men.

The Hipatia Forum is organized by the following associations: 50a50, Associació de Dones de Sant Quirze del Vallès, ADEVallès, Agima People i Wo+men’s Progress, ASODAME, Círculo de Mujeres de Negocios, Comissió DonesCOEINF, DDiPAS, Dona’t un Impuls, Dones Visuals, Dones en Xarxa, Forgender Seal, Fundació FIDEM, Lean In Barcelona, Observatori Dona Empresa i Economia de la Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona, On Són Les Dones and Fundació Surt. Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Activa and Catalan Government are also collaborating.
