The 50a50 Association has presented, in 2025, the first 50a50 Shared Leadership Award, a new initiative aimed at highlighting the transformative leadership of women in all areas of society. In this inaugural edition, the award was granted, posthumously, to Lourdes Rivallo Sereno, in recognition of her exemplary career and her firm commitment to equality and social justice.

The nomination was promoted by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) as a gesture of gratitude and tribute to her work as Chair of the Works Council for six years and founding member of the Equality Committee, established in 2018. The proposal received enthusiastic support from over 400 colleagues from the company, a clear demonstration of the appreciation and recognition she inspired.

During the award ceremony, Adrina Bachiller Saña, Deputy Director of Projects and New Business Development at FGC, thanked the 50a50 Association for creating this award and for honoring Rivallo’s legacy. In her speech, she highlighted Rivallo’s courageous and transformative leadership through union activism, as well as her ability to promote real equality in a traditionally male-dominated environment. She also emphasized the inspiring legacy Rivallo leaves behind, built on perseverance, active listening, a willingness to learn, and an unwavering commitment to equality.

The award was received by her daughters, Júlia and Candela García Rivallo, in an emotional ceremony that included the participation of Anna Mercadé, President of the 50a50 Association, and Sònia Guerra, who attended the event as Secretary General, representing the Department of Equality and Feminisms on behalf of the Minister.

With this recognition, the 50a50 Association reaffirms its commitment to promoting female leadership and building a fairer, more equitable, and gender-balanced society.
